IWC CALCUTTA MIDTOWN JOINT PROJECT AMBUJA Rejuvenation of Village Water Bodies in Kakdwip
Under the project SDB, Govt. of West Bengal &IWC Calcutta supported in renovating three ponds in Sundarban. These ponds were first cleaned, the water hyacinth plants were cleared, the ponds was deepened and bank were restored. The purpose of Rejuvenation water bodies was to enable these water bodies to turn into potential income generation for the village women. After the pond renovation works, the upkeep of each of these ponds were given to SHGs. This pond water use for agriculture, fishing
